What is Qi Cultivation?

Qi Cultivation brings together traditional practices of movement, posture, breathing and attention. In Chinese traditions, qi is a way of describing vital activity and the relationship between body, breath and mind. Here, the emphasis is on practical exploration rather than achieving a particular result.

Qi Gong and Tai Chi

Qi Gong may include simple repeated movements, standing practice and coordinated breathing. Tai Chi explores slow, connected movement, balance and transitions through a sequence. Maaz is a long-time practitioner and instructor who introduces these practices step by step, with room to adapt the movements to you.

Breath awareness and meditation

Sessions may also include noticing the natural breath, seated meditation and periods of stillness. You can explore these alongside movement or make them the focus of your session.

What to expect

Begin with a conversation about your interests, previous experience and any movement considerations. Together, you can choose a manageable starting point and explore a few practices with time for questions. Maaz can help you develop a simple routine to practise between sessions.
