TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE
Chinese Herbal Medicine in South Fremantle
Chinese herbal medicine has a long tradition of individually prescribed formulas. Drawing from a materia medica containing hundreds of medicinal ingredients, a practitioner selects a combination of herbs according to the pattern identified during your assessment.
A formula often contains several ingredients, each chosen for its role within the combination. The selection and proportions can be adjusted to reflect your individual circumstances.
Traditional Chinese herbal prescribing considers both your signs and symptoms and your underlying constitution. Two people with a similar concern may therefore receive different herbal prescriptions.

Dr Maaz has had the privilege of studying with experienced Chinese herbalists whose mentorship deepened his understanding of this detailed prescribing tradition. Their teaching continues to inform his thoughtful, individual approach to herbal consultations.
Herbal granules at TaoWest
TaoWest offers Chinese herbal granules: concentrated extracts supplied as a powder and measured according to your prescription. Mixed with water, they provide a practical alternative to preparing a raw-herb decoction at home.
If a prescription is appropriate, you’ll receive clear instructions on preparation, dosage and duration, together with a plan for reviewing your response.
Herbs contain active constituents and can interact with medicines. Maaz will discuss relevant precautions and may recommend coordination with your GP, pharmacist or another treating practitioner.
Herbal medicine may be considered on its own or alongside acupuncture. Recommendations are guided by your assessment, current medicines and preferences.
